Medicare and Medicaid: The Next 50 Years

Wednesday, January 28, 2015
National Press Club 529 14th Street, NW Ballroom Washington, DC 20045

From 1965 to 2015, our health care system has been fundamentally shaped by two giant “Great Society” public programs: Medicare and Medicaid. Anthem proudly sponsored the National Academy of Social Insurance’s 27th Annual Policy Research Conference, which explored how new forces will affect both these programs and our entire health care system for the next half-century, from 2015 to 2065.
Sessions focused on four “megatrends” relevant to innovations in health policy, including changing demographics and culture; technological advances in drugs, telemedicine, robotics and data analytics; payment and delivery innovations in health coverage and services; and new trends as we transition among Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA and employee coverage.

Conference Co-Chairs

•    Karen Davis, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
•    Susan Dentzer, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
•    Sachin Jain, CareMore Health System/Anthem and Harvard Medical School
